The Indian Air Force has issued the AFCAT 1 Notification 2024. Candidates can apply for Class – I Gazetted Officers in Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) and Flying Branch through the link provided below (currently Inactive) in the article beginning December 1st, 2023. The online registration for the AFCAT 1/2024 Exam will be launched here once the Indian Air Force has officially published it.

AFCAT Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Flying Branch & Ground Duty (Non-technical) – A minimum of 50% in physics and mathematics at the 10+2 level, as well as a three-year graduate degree OR a BE/BTech degree with a minimum of 60% from a recognised university, is required.
• Ground Duty (Technical) – Aeronautical engineering (Electronics) (AE(L)): The candidate must have a minimum of 60% marks in physics and mathematics at the 10+2 level, as well as a degree in graduation/post-graduation in engineering and technology from a recognised university.

Age Limit (as on 01/01/2025)

• Flying Branch – 20 to 24 years (Candidate must have born between 02/01/2001 to 01/01/2005)
• Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) – 20 to 26 years (Candidate must have born between 02/01/1999 to 01/01/2005)

AFCAT Air Force Selection Board

• The AFSB is the exam’s second phase. Candidates who pass the written exam will be invited to the AFSB interview round. Candidates who have been chosen will be called to one of the Air Force Selection Boards.
• This is a 5-day process in which a candidate must complete a variety of intellectual and mental challenges. The interview round will be held on the last day.
• The candidate will be evaluated based on his performance across all tasks.
• Candidates who applied for the NCC Special Entry and Meteorology Branch will be contacted straight for AFSB testing at one of the AFSB centers.
