Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility necessitates the fulfillment of the following conditions in order to be considered for the position in the RBI Assistant Recruitment procedure.
- Nationality: A candidate is required to be
(a) a citizen of India or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- Should be between the age range of 20 to 28 years.
- Candidates who want to apply for the post must have a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% in the final aggregate result. Computer knowledge is required, as is expertise in state-specific languages.
[Note: A minimum of 50% is not required for SC/ST/PWD applicants (just pass class for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).]
Selection Process: Stages
The RBI Assistant Exam will be held in three stages [Prelims + Mains + Language Proficiency Test (LPT)]. There are three portions of the preliminary examination: Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability, and English Language.
- There are five areas in the main exam: reasoning, quantitative aptitude, English language, computer knowledge, and general awareness.
- There is a 0.25 point deduction for each incorrect answer attempted by the contestant. If a question is left unanswered or blank, no marks are subtracted.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
Candidates who are provisionally selected from the main online examination will be required to take a language proficiency test (LPT). Students qualify for the Mains test based on their preliminary examination result. Salary
The basic pay for an Assistant of RBI is Rs. 20,700/- per month on the range of Rs. 20700 – 1200 (3) – 24300 – 1440 (4) – 30060 – 1920 (6) – 41580 – 2080 (2) – 45740 – 2370 (3) – 52850 – 2850 – 55700 (20 years) and various allowances. In addition to the Basic Pay, they receive Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transportation Allowance, and other benefits.
